This course can help you prepare to take the Intuit QuickBooks Certified User Online and Microsoft Office Suite (MOS) Specialist certification exams.
This lesson focuses on an introduction to the role of accounting in business. Basic accounting, an overview of financial accounting, and elements of an accounting system are covered. We will also learn the differences between cash and accrual accounting.
In this lesson, we will explore the application of financial accounting in retail businesses. We will also learn about internal cash controls. Purchase and sales transactions, bank reconciliations, and important laws that govern financial accounting will be covered.
The focus of this lesson is on receivables and inventory. Types of receivables and inventories will be covered, along with write-offs, balance sheet reporting, and inventory costing methods and reporting.
In this lesson, we will focus on fixed assets and financial liabilities. Topics in this lesson include the disposal of assets, financial reporting, bonds, and the reporting of liabilities.
In this final lesson, we will learn about stockholders, cash flow statements, and metric-based analysis of financial statements. Dividends, stock splits, various cash flows, and global analysis will all be covered.
This course will use scenarios to help you learn the ins and outs of QuickBooks Online. This is done through the use of a sample company, and the data that belongs to that company. This first lesson introduces you to the sample company and how to navigate the data given to you.
In this lesson, you will create a QuickBooks Online account and start using the basic features. You will navigate the dashboard and enter information about the sample company you will be using.
In this lesson, you will delve deeper into QuickBooks Online by changing company settings, modifying the chart of accounts, and creating new customers. You will also begin exploring reports that QuickBooks can create.
In this lesson, you will add operating activities like sales receipts, invoices, and cash receipts. You will also record operating activities, such as new services, products, customers, invoices, and receipts.
Lesson 5 is a follow-up to lesson 4. In the previous lesson you recorded money coming in. In this lesson, you will record money that goes out. This includes purchase orders and payment of bills.
In lesson 6, you will continue entering data with your sample company by including fixed assets, investments, and stocks. This lesson also serves as a refresher for these financial topics.
Lesson 7 is an essential topic for companies. You will be recording payroll activities in this lesson, including adding employees, payroll accounts, and payroll expenses.
In lesson 8 you will explore more features of QuickBooks Online, namely budgeting and bank reconciliation. You will also learn how to create budgeting reports, such as a profit and loss statement.
This lesson focuses heavily on the accounting features of QuickBooks Online, as well as serves as a review of basic accounting procedures. In Lesson 9, you will learn about adjusting journal entries.
This final lesson brings it all together with the creation and analysis of financial reports. A/R, A/P, and Inventory summary reports are all included.
In this lesson, we will start by opening a Microsoft Word document, entering text, and inserting images into Word. This lesson culminates in the creation of a business flyer.
In this lesson, we will learn the skills needed to successfully create a research paper in Microsoft Word. Changing line spacing, using shortcuts, creating a bibliography, and working with comments in a document will all be covered. We will also learn to work with multi-page documents, including creating a cover page and editing lists and tables.
In this lesson, we will learn how to create a business letter, including creating a letterhead and printing envelopes. We will learn the mail merge function to customize form letters and address envelopes.
In this lesson, we will work with a template to create a resume and create and format a newsletter.
In this lesson, we will explore how to create charts in Microsoft Word. We will explore collaboration techniques, including blogging, and how to link a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet to a Word document. We will also work on creating a reference document, with proper navigation.
In this lesson, we will learn how to create a template and create an online form for electronic distribution. We will then learn more advanced features of online forms, using Macros.
In this lesson, we will start by opening a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet and learn how to navigate the document. We will enter text, format the cells, and save a project.
In this lesson, we will learn how to enter formulas in the spreadsheet and verify the formulas using Range Finder. We will also use the IF function to perform a logical test and freeze and unfreeze rows and columns.
In this lesson, we will learn how to use the financial functions of Microsoft Excel, such as Amortization schedules and the mortgage payment calculator. We will also create a consolidated worksheet and learn to work across several spreadsheets.
In this lesson, we will learn how to create, format, and sort tables. We will also work with templates, import data, and work with SmartArt.
In this lesson, we will learn some more advanced features, such as PivotTables and other Excel charts. We will also learn how to perform complex problem-solving and customize Excel add-ins.
In this lesson, we will learn how to use Macros in Microsoft Excel and perform other data analysis. We will also learn how to collaborate in Microsoft Excel and create a custom theme.
In this lesson, we will start by opening Microsoft PowerPoint, creating a title slide, and adding additional slides. We will also start working with images by inserting them, and resizing pictures. This lesson concludes with learning how to save and print a PowerPoint file.
In this lesson, we will learn how to build onto and enhance presentations with a variety of tools in Microsoft PowerPoint. We will learn about themes in PowerPoint, as well as adding elements such as SmartArt, WordArt, charts, and tables.
In this lesson, we will learn how to create a master slide and presentation and customize slide elements. We will also learn how to collaborate in Microsoft PowerPoint and animate content on the slides.
In this lesson, we will work on inserting graphics from a file, and drawing and formatting tables. We will also insert a linked spreadsheet from Excel, and learn to modify and format a linked Excel chart.
In this lesson, we will explore how to enhance presentations by adding a variety of media. We will also learn how to create graphics and add action buttons to make a professional presentation.
In this lesson, we will learn best practices in delivering the presentation. Topics will include printing and saving the presentation and creating a customized slide show.
In this lesson, we will start by adding a Microsoft account to Outlook and work on composing an email message. We will also reply to a message, and learn how to attach a file to a message, create and move messages into folders, and check spelling as you type in Outlook.
In this lesson, we will learn how to work with calendars in Outlook. Topics include creating and scheduling appointments, meetings, and events, and sharing your calendar.
In this lesson, we will learn how to work with contacts in Microsoft Outlook. We will view and sort a contact list, edit a contact, and learn about creating contacts in various ways.
In this lesson, we will work on the task function in Microsoft Outlook. Topics will include categorizing and managing tasks, categorizing email messages, and working with display and print views.
In this lesson, we will explore how to customize Outlook. We will customize email messages, create signatures and stationery, and customizing the calendar.
